Continuous Wave, pertaining to Continuous Wave transducer. Continuous wave transducers use two active elements one on transmit and one on receive. Both transducers are active 100% of the time. Advantages of CW transducers include: excellent sensitivity, and no Nyquist limit. Disadvantages include: blind technique, no velocity information (unless 0 degree Doppler Angle is achieved and assumed), and large gate.
