Fibromuscular Dysplasia

Fibromuscular dysplasia is an arterial disease of uncertain etiology affecting middle-to-large size arteries of young to middle-aged females. While several subtypes of fibromuscular dysplasia exist, the typical findings in the affected vessels include tandem stenotic lesions separated by aneurysmal outpuchings forming a "string of beads" appearance.
